Dear Patients and Medical Providers,
LiteMD Telemedicine Platform has been hacked by disgruntled IT developers who previously performed services for LiteMD and have since been terminated.
Do we know these It developers?
• Yes – Mr. Bobir Akilkhanov, as owner and operator of his software development companies The Real Start LLC, Bobir LLC and Jafton Development LLC.
What is happening and what steps we have taken?
We hired experienced, professional software engineers, quality assurance analysts and internal auditors to analyze the situation.
Bobir Akilkhanov, The Real Start LLC, Bobir LLC and Jafton Development LLC and their developers were requested to turn over the software codes, so the new software engineers can fix all mishaps and dysfunctional features in order ensure smooth medical care for our patients
On August 4, 2019 Bobir Akilkhanov, The Real Start LLC, Bobir LLC and Jafton Development LLC refused to turn over said software codes
On August 7, 2019 LiteMD's legal team filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court along with an emergency motion seeking an order to gain immediate access to the codes to repair the LiteMD platform
On August 8th, 2019, a New York Supreme Court Judge ordered the IT Developers to hand over all codes and access back to LiteMd - however Mr. Akilkhanov's and his IT Developers blatantly disregarded the Judges directives and refused to comply with the court order
On August 13th, 2019 Mr. Akilkhanov's team took LiteMD's Platform when to another extreme and completely shut down the entire LiteMD website and removed LiteMd’s iOS Mobile App from Apple store depriving 400+ active users from medical care
On August 14th, 2019 a second Emergency Court Order was issued by the Judge order Mr. Akilkhanov's team to restore the website and all Mobile Apps back to full operational status within 24 hours.
On August 15th, 2019 although LiteMD's Platform was partially restored, it was discovered that Mr. Akilkhanov's team cut off all notifications between LiteMD Staff and their users, rendering it impossible for LiteMD's team to assist our users with their inquires
On August 20th, 2019 notifications between our doctors and their patients were cut off as well.
Despite the fact that, Mr. Akilkhanov's development team and his attorney have been informed of all these technical issues, they have repeatedly refused to restore the functionalities and continue to violate two court orders to turn over LiteMD's software codes, repositories and database.
What is next?
There is another court hearing scheduled on September 4, 2019 for contempt and in order to gain access to our source codes and database
Until September 4, 2019 we are forced to stop all operations in order to minimize any harm this situation may cause to our patients and providers.
